Designing the future

In the new exhibition 'Dream Tomorrow Today' at The DoSeum, children positively impact the future and build a STEM ( science, technology, engineering and mathematics) identity to become empowered agents of change. Through play and imagination, children become STEM agents. They create their own avatar (with a photo!) and learn their STEM identity by playing different interactive exhibits. The avatar is adjusted accordingly and at the end of the visit, the children can create a digital souvenir with their personal avatar and STEM identity. During the visit, the children learn about planet health and the impact of their actions on this. The children ensure that the planet stays healthy by participating in activities with other visitors, such as pulling a funny face or keeping a 'river' clean.

The exhibition starts with a touchscreen registration station in which kids create their profile and make an avatar with their own photo. The profile is saved in our visitor platform (Backstage ID) and linked to an RFID wristband.

After registering, kids can go on a large physical slide. On the slide is a projection with an animation of all elements from the interactive exhibition.

In Citylab, children build their own city using large Augmented Reality (AR) tiles. Kids can move them around to arrange the houses and appear to be giants in this town.

In the Grocery Store, kids buy futuristic products that everyone wants to have. But beware, if they buy an item in the online store or grocery store, it will be at the expense of nature.

After several games, children scan their wristbands at the last station. Here they place themselves in a big future world projection and learn more about their STEM identity. They can take the result home as a digital souvenir.
