Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
The teens, aged 12 and older, are received as a group in My Stories Headquarters. After a short introduction video, tablets are handed out. They enter the museum in pairs or threes with a tablet, which is used to scan the special My Stories QR codes throughout the building.
The youngsters are assigned challenges on the tablet at various places in the museum. Being able to find the way to this challenge is an essential part of the experience. The teens are guided by a map on the tablet and by QR codes in the rooms.
The aim of the challenges is to encourage young people to think about art. There is no right or wrong answer. The application is mainly intended to give young people more self-confidence and let them know that their opinion matters.
''We are delighted with My Stories. It has genuinely helped us understand how we can offer new ways of engaging with people who really aren’t interested in museums.''
David Scott, Digital Manager, Glasgow Museums
