Perot Museum of Nature and Science

Kiss the Frog collaborated with the Perot Museum to design and develop the interactive games for ‘Soccer: More Than a Game’, a 10,000-square-foot exhibition that immerses visitors in the science, strategy, and excitement behind the world’s most beloved sport.

Through a combination of twenty physical and digital interactive challenges, visitors explore the many dimensions of soccer: building a championship team, mastering new skills, and testing their abilities. Central to the experience is a deep sense of personalisation, allowing visitors to discover their unique and valuable role in the game. Our team created hands-on interactives and high-tech challenges that make complex concepts like physics, biomechanics, and data science tangible and playful for visitors of all ages.

Personalised RFID experience

At the start of the exhibition, visitors step into the locker room and receive an RFID wristband integrated with Kiss the Frog’s custom Experios system. Visitors link their wristband to their personal data, including language preference, name, and picture. This wristband allows visitors to log in at nearly every interactive station, track their progress, and participate in personalised challenges. Each game records results like speed, accuracy, creativity, and teamwork, which are collected throughout the exhibition.

At the end of the exhibition, visitors receive a personalised summary, showing their tested skills and a suggested role in the soccer world, based on both their gameplay and interests. The Experios system also lets visitors download and share their experience and results via QR code or email, creating a seamless journey from the locker room to the final check-out.

Highlighted interactive experiences

The field is lava
In this active challenge, field players try to score goals while an erupting digital volcano threatens the pitch. Console players next to the field work to “fight the lava,” keeping the ball in play. The game merges fast-paced action with cooperative strategy, creating excitement and teamwork.

Mascot dance-off
Visitors embody their self-designed team mascot and showcase their best dance moves. By following choreographed steps, striking signature poses, and adding their own creative flair, visitors earn points and receive a personalised video of their performance, turning playful movement into a keepsake memory.

Stadium builder
Visitors design LEGO stadiums that transform into futuristic AI-powered arenas. As creations come to life on screen, visitors contribute to a growing gallery of imaginative stadiums, exploring digital play.

Team management
Fans step into the role of coach, assembling their dream squad and strategising for victory in a penalty shoot-out. This game shows competition and emphasises the value of each player.
