Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre
One of the world's largest museums
The cultural centre contains five museums covering Natural History, Science, Fine Arts, Islamic Heritage and Space. It includes 22 gallery halls with a total exhibit area of 22,000 square meters making it one of the largest museum projects in the world.
Kiss the Frog was responsible for 33 interactives across galleries about Human Body & Mind, Transport, Health & Well-being, Technology and Robotics. The interactives vary from large touch-table exhibits trough complex integrated interactives that communicate with peripherals such as model race car tracks, printers, cameras and RFID tags.
In the Healthy Living gallery, visitors can explore interactive experiences using their personal RFID cards. Their progress and achievements are tracked in real time and can be revisited or shared after their visit. One highlight of the gallery lets visitors race against Usain Bolt, recording their personal best time on a large leaderboard. Ready to challenge the fastest man on Earth?
In the Robotics gallery, visitors can try programming a robotic arm, and discover how speed and precision work together to complete simple tasks. It’s up to them to provide the right commands to make it work.
One of the most exciting interactive exhibits features Alan, our human-like robot. Alan helps visitors explore efforts in robotics to make machines more lifelike. He can recognize objects, respond like a person, and share stories about the items he interacts with.
An international cultural centre like this cannot operate without control over its museum content and user-generated content. Our content management system (CMS) called Backstage CMS gives full control over the text in both Arabic and English, including images, video and audio files.
“Beautiful museum with interactive exhibitions & games. Must visit in Kuwait.”
